The Detroit Tigers have made a couple of moves as the off-season in baseball is officially underway.

They have declined the option on Edgar Renteria and re-hired Jeff Jones as the bullpen coach. I’m perplexed. I’d like to hear the explanation behind that one. You may recall when Jones and Hernandez were let go, the Tigers said they would keep Jones in the organization, but in another capacity. Curious move.

Additionally, they have outrighted the contracts of Gary Glover and Dane Sardinha to Toledo.
